Brenda Pennington

(The Daily Citizen-News: Dalton, Ga, Friday, February 21, 1975, Pages 1 and 2)  This particular edition of the paper has a nice article along with pictures of the STAR students and STAR teachers for the Dalton City School System and the Whitfield County School System for 1975.  The Eastbrook STAR student was Jackie Webb and the STAR teacher was Miss Brenda Pennington.

So sad to hear that this wonderful lady has passed away. Brenda Pennington was one of the people who inspired me to become an educator, and her circle of influence was far-reaching. I tried lady year to find her address to be write and thank her for her impact on my life, but if was unsuccessful. Through that I've learned to  let people know how much they mean to you while I have the chance. Her legacy lives on. . . .

Thank You Nancy for posting your comment so that we are aware of her passing.  I always thought alot of Ms. Pennington while we were in school and I'm so sadden to hear this news.  When we're young we don't think alot about showing our appreciation to our adult peers, then when we ourselves reach adulthood it's too late to go back and thank those that helped us of much.  Prayers to Ms Pennington's famly.

How sad to hear of her passing.  I too only had her one year, but in that year she taught me to appreciate poetry and other things as well.  May God bless her family and help them through her passing.

Thank you one and all with sharing thoughts about Ms Pennington.  She has left a mark on all that knew her.  The patience she showed to us, and th encouragement, she always knew how to bring out the best in us, me especially.  It's true, we need to tell people what we feel while they are with us to share.
